Since its inception in early 2015, Wikiesfera has been developing editing activities on Wikipedia to make this powerful collaborative documentation tool known to the general public. The editathons (editing marathons) are events in which several people come together with the aim of create new content or improve existing content on Wikipedia.

Due to the lack of content related to women, from Wikiesfera we also develop editatones (gender-sensitive editing marathons) and, since 2024, campaigns online and asynchronous, to reduce the gender gap on Wikipedia. Aware of this important bias in the free encyclopedia, both editors and content, from Wikiesfera we have promoted these activities on different topics: scientists, artists, photographers, film directors, human rights activists...

We have also had the privilege of counting on these meetings with experts from a wide range of fields. Their participation in the activities is always essential since they put us in context and help us understand the difficulties that women have in all professional fields, and how this situation of invisibility is also reproduced in Wikipedia.
