I Editatona of researchers #17F
> Theme
Last Saturday, February 17, from Wikisphere and in coordination with the Subdirectorate-General for State Archives (@archivosest) of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain (@culturagob) we dedicate a day to make visible in Wikipedia women who researched at the State Archives between 1900 and 1970 through the creation and translation of different articles in the National Historical Archives, in Madrid.

This activity is part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which is held every 11 February (@11defebreroES), “in order to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, in addition to achieving gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls”.
The project Women Investigators in the State Archives (1900-1970) is a pioneering initiative in Spanish archival, focused on highlighting the role of women in historical research. It brings together the efforts of seven centers of the Subdirectorate General of State Archives, creating a microsite in the Portal de Archivos Españoles (PARES). This project provides access to documents that reveal the female contribution in history and science, and continues to expand, serving as a valuable resource and tribute to women researchers.
> Experts
As in all the activities we organize, we always have an expert person who helps us put in context the editatona on which we are going to make the biographies. On this occasion, we have two experts: Ana María López Cuadrado, Deputy Director General of the State Archives, who told us about the interest of this area of the Ministry of Culture in the visibility of content on Wikipedia; and with Elisa García Prieto, project coordinator Women Investigators in the State Archives (1900-1970) with which we work to create profiles of female researchers on Wikipedia.
In addition, for this editor, we decided to invite the illustrator Carla Berrocal (@pintamonas) to develop the images of some of the researchers that we were going to publish during the activity. We had the chance to see how it was going. creating illustrations of five women of which we had pictures but they were not royalty-free. The result can be seen in the articles of María del Pilar Corrales (municipality), María Asunción del Val Cordón, Josefina Oliva Teixell, Maria Antonia Varona Garcia (disambiguation) y Pilar Sánchez-Terreros Vázquez.
