Last Saturday, October 26, from Wikisphere and in coordination with the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (@miteco.gob) of the Government of Spain we dedicate a day to make visible in Wikipedia to women and relevant projects in the field of energy and the environment through the creation and translation of different articles in the the Biodiversity Foundation, in Madrid.

This is the first activity framed in a training project that we will develop during the coming months, with editatonas and training sessions for women from different organizations related to energy and the environment. The goal is to form a working group of about 20 people, training them in the use of digital technologies to edit Wikipedia and thus contributing to creating an accessible and diverse knowledge community.

> Expert

As in all the activities we organize, we always have an expert person who helps us put in context the editatona on which we are going to make the biographies. On this occasion, we have Alicia Puleo (@AliciaPuleo), philosopher and ecofeminist thinker, who told us about the intersection between feminism and ecology, taking a historical tour of the fight for gender equality and the defense of the environment.

In addition, to all the participants of the editatona, We watered one of Alicia Puleo's books, Ecofeminist keys for rebels who love the earth and animals (2019), an essay exploring the relationship between feminism and environmentalism, highlighting how gender oppressions and the exploitation of nature are interconnected, such as thanks for the hours of work dedicated to making women visible on Wikipedia.
