Editatona decolonial #2J

Last Friday, June 2, from Wikiesfera and in coordination with DigitalFems (@digitalfems), AlgoRace (@algorace), Algorights (@algorights) and lafede.cat (@lafedecat), we dedicate a day to decolonize Wikipedia translating articles on people, concepts and literary or cinematographic works on the subject into Spanish.

This editatona was framed in the II DAYS DAR: Democracies, Algorithms and Resistances, a meeting of civil society organisations and people with concerns about the automation of society, which took place on 1 and 2 June in space ECOOO (@Ecooo_) from Madrid.

Round table

Although the editatona was on Friday, June 2, the day before, on Thursday, June 1, the first of the DAR Conferences took place with several tables. Patricia Horrillo, founder of Wikiesfera, participated in the Session 3: Decolonize the Internet through collective knowledge to provide the point of view of the editors of Wikiesfera and the gender gap that has been combated for more than a decade.

At the table, they also participated virtually Priscilla Bellini WhoseKnowledge 's@WhoseKnowledge) and Carolina Matos (@artemantica) of the Open Knowledge Foundation (@okfn), and in person Anyely Marin (@AnyelyMC), researcher and teacher in gender and anti-racism who helped prepare the list of the editatona, and Paula Guerra Cáceres (@PaulaWar_C) of Algorace, dynamizing the table.
