Last Thursday, October 3, from Wikiesfera we dedicated a day to make visible in Wikipedia relevant women in the Decorative Arts by creating and translating different articles.

We carry out this activity in collaboration with the National Museum of Decorative Arts – MNAD (@mnad_madrid), of the Ministry of Culture, with the aim of making more women artists and designers visible on Wikipedia, as well as profiles of pioneering entrepreneurs in running companies and factories linked to the Decorative Arts.

> Experts

As in each editatona, we invited an expert in the subject that we were going to deal with. In this event, we have the presence of Carmen Gaitán SalinasIdoia Murga Castro. They are researchers of the Institute of History the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC)@CSIC) and have jointly curated the exhibition of the National Museum of Decorative Arts entitled ‘Al bies. Artists and design in the Spanish avant-garde”.

In their intervention, they told us about the process of generating the exhibition in which, taking as a starting point the memories of Victorina Duran, published by themselves, found a universe of women who contributed to the decorative arts and design in the passage from the nineteenth to the twentieth century in our country. Many of them were the protagonists of our editatona.
