From Wikisphere, coordinated and subsidised by the Ministry of Culture under the project “Creating free knowledge communities with a feminist approach”, we invite you to participate in the editatone on relevant Asturians.
One editatone or editing marathon is a collaborative activity to create and improve content on Wikipedia, reducing the gender gap and making women's contributions visible history, culture and society.

On this occasion, the day will be focused on the creation, improvement and translation of articles on Asturian women in the Spanish and Asturian Wikipedias, with special attention to content related to the West of Asturias. During the session we will work both practical aspects of editing and translation and the publication of content, in a space of collective and collaborative learning.
This will be the second edition that we celebrated in Asturias within the framework of the project. The election of Santa Eulalia de Oscos also responds to the will of broadening the territorial scope of activities and facilitating the participation of people from rural areas, generating opportunities for new people, voices and knowledge linked to the territory to join the community.
The editatone will take place in The Chula Bookstore-Café of Santa Eulalia de Oscos, a cultural and meeting space that contributes to dynamizing the cultural life of the area. Celebrating this day there allows us to connect Wikipedia work with local initiatives and communities, and generate new spaces for participation around free knowledge.
> Expert
On this occasion he will accompany us Pilar Sanchez Vicente (@psanchezvicente), writer, historian and documentary filmmaker Asturian. His literary career is closely linked to the reclaiming the memory, heritage and history of Asturias, with a special focus on women silenced or relegated by traditional stories. Documentary research, archives, historical sources and oral memory form the basis of a narrative work that goes through different eras and turns literature into a tool for dissemination and restitution of the female experience.
Its relationship with western Asturias is particularly noteworthy:
was named Friend of the Library of Luarca in 2022 and Author
of the Year at the Navelgas Rural World Book Fair in 2024. In La Asturianita (2025), with prologue by Rodrigo Cuevas,
recovers the life of Regina García López, born in Valtravieso
(Valdés), extraordinary artist whose memory had remained
practically erased.
