Virtual Editatona of Archaeologists #24A
> Theme
Last Saturday, April 24, after having postponed the activity for reasons outside the group, we were able to celebrate the editatona on archaeologists and historians that was scheduled for the month of March. At the time, we explained that taking advantage of the International Women's Day, which takes place on 8 March, and as a tribute to the 110th anniversary of the birth of Incarnation of Cabré Herreros (March 21, 1911 - March 18, 2005), the first Spanish woman who dedicated herself to archaeology, dedicated a day to the Women Archaeologists and Historians to make their absence visible on Wikipedia and share the need for that to change. In addition, with this activity, we celebrate the 50th edition of the Wikiesfera editatonas since the project was born in 2015.
> Guests
Apart from the expert on archaeology that we invited (as we do in each editatona with the theme that we deal with), we wanted to explain why from Wikiesfera we wanted to dedicate a day to archaeologists. To do this, our partner Isabel Zapico (@IsaZapico) put us in context from a Twitter thread that made us think about this discipline and the invisibility of women in it.
After Isa's explanation, we have the presence of the Doctor of History and specialist in Gender History and History of Old Age in Antiquity Sara Casamayor Mancisidor (@saracaman), who gave us a tour of the presence of women in archaeology and told us about the permanent questioning that remains of their presence in this world of research.
