In July 2024, we launched a special campaign dedicated to make biographies of African and Afro-descendant women visible on Wikipedia. This initiative was framed in the commemorations of the International Day of Women of African Descent, which takes place every 25 July, and the African Women's Day, which takes place on 31 July. Both days seek to promote public policies that improve the quality of life of these women and eradicate racism and discrimination.

With this campaign, which lasted 13 days, from 22 to 31 July, we managed to enrich the content on Spanish Wikipedia with the publication of profiles of African and Afro-descendant women, while contributing to make visible the trajectories of these women. In addition, articles related to African and Afro-descendant women's culture, history and organizations were also translated during the campaign.

For the curation of articles to be translated, we have the support of our colleagues from Wiki Editoras LX, providing articles created in Portuguese Wikipedia during your III Editatone of Black Visibility held on 20 July 2024 in Lisbon collaboration with the media BANTUMEN, specialized in visilibizar the black lusophone culture.
