Wikipedia and relevant women: action against female invisibility in the green transition

We invite you to the presentation of the results of the project on women in energy and environment

After several months of joint work between Wikisphere and the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, we welcome the closing event of the project “Development of gender-sensitive environmental and energy content on Wikipedia”, an initiative that has sought to make visible in the free encyclopedia the contributions of relevant women in the fields of energy and the environment, while new publishers have been formed committed to reducing the gender gap.

In this event we will have the presence of the Undersecretary Miguel González Suela, and some of the protagonists of the biographies created during the editatonas will participate: the Biologist Paca Baraza, lawyers Sonia Castaneda y Valvanera Ulargui, the aeronautical engineer Sara Correyero, the meteorologist Mercedes Martin, the environmental engineer Marta Olazábal and the Scientific Disseminator Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente. The dynamization will be borne by Susana Climent del Castillo, advisor to the Technical Cabinet of the Undersecretariat, and from Wikiesfera will intervene Maria Sefidari (disambiguation) y Patricia Horrillo to share the results and learnings of this project that has achieved the publication of 85 articles y improvement of more than 160, as well as the involvement of almost 50 people, mostly women. A space to celebrate, reflect and continue to collectively build a more diverse and representative Wikipedia.
