Wikipedia has become one of the main sources of consultation and is one of the ten most visited web pages in the world. Despite its 22 years of life and important documentation work by thousands of volunteers, Wikipedia in Spanish still needs the incorporation of more experts in different fields. In this way, a greater number of articles and better quality can be generated, which are also visible more directly in the main Internet search engines. 

To influence a specific field in Wikipedia it is convenient to create thematic working groups. By carrying out regular meetings and a fragmentation of tasks for the creation and improvement of articles, these editors are filling the gaps of the free encyclopedia. Therefore, in coordination with Medialab Matadero, we have developed for the City Council of Madrid a structured training project in several months that has allowed us dynamize a working group focused on generating content on the heritage of Landscape of Light, the candidature submitted by the Madrid City Council to UNESCO to be part of the World Heritage List. 

This training, very thought out in practical aspects, has allowed participants to acquire different digital skills as well as agile writing and reading. He's been vertebrate by several editathons (Wikipedia editing marathons), which are playful meetings to ‘hook’ heritage experts interested in the documentation work offered by Wikipedia.

Following the success of the first edition of these workshops, the Madrid City Council decided to continue training and publishing activities on Wikipedia until the end of 2022. So far, the following editathons have been developed:
