Aspasia

In September 2020, the Laboratory of the General Directorate of Open Government and Social Innovation (LAAAB) of the Government of Aragon (Spain) contacted Wikiesfera to coordinate a series of editatones within the the Aspasia Community. This initiative, which is developed in collaboration with the Aragonese Institute of Women (IAM), seeks to promoting gender-responsive political participation and the visibility of women in public affairs. The objective of Wikiesfera's involvement in this community is twofold: on the one hand, to make visible in Wikipedia relevant women in different fields (preferably from Aragon) and, on the other, to train new editors who could form their own working group.

The presentation of the project took place on November 18, 2020, where Mariví Broto, Minister of Citizenship and Social Rights, María Goikoetxea, director of the Aragonese Institute of Women, Beatriz Palacios-Llorente of the LAAAB, the writer Irene Vallejo, participated with her presentation ‘Aspasia: The Roots of Women's Public Voice and Patricia Horrillo, founder of Wikiesfera, who explained in her speech the great gender gap that exists in Wikipedia.
