On 10 October 2025, Wikisphere, together with our colleagues from Wikimorada and Wikieditoras LX, was part of the program of the VI edition of the day Lack of science in equality: By unha Scientific Wikipedia and galega held at the University of Vigo and that every year seeks to promote a more inclusive and equitable dissemination in science as well as boost the visibility of women scientists.
During this edition, the day focused on the Wikipedia as an outreach tool, space where the presence of biographies of STEM Women and the recognition of their contributions remains a minority. The aim was to make women visible in science and research and to promote a gender perspective in communication.
At the event, our colleagues Isabel Zapico and Sabela Cebro presented the Wikisphere experience in reducing knowledge gaps and shared learnings and strategies aimed at achieving a more inclusive and diverse representation of STEM disciplines on Wikipedia.
For its part, Maite Sobrino explained the work of WikiEditoras LX focused on increasing diversity on Wikipedia and increasing representation in content of cis women, trans and non-binary people. In addition, during the session CINBIO submitted its draft to include Galician scientists on Wikipedia.
