From 6 to 9 August 2025, it was held in Nairobi, Kenya. Wikimania 2025, the annual gathering of Wikimedians from around the world. On this occasion, although no Wikisphere member was able to travel to the event in person, we did have the opportunity to attend virtually. In addition, Wikisphere was included in the poster session and in the Lightning Talks of this edition of Wikimania.
> 10 years of Wikisphere
As you know, in 2025 Wikisphere celebrates its tenth anniversary. A milestone of which we are very proud, which we already celebrated in March in a special editatone in Madrid, and that we wanted to share with the whole Movement in Wikimania. So create this Poster that condenses in one page the great achievements achieved thanks to our community of editors. In addition, our companions Wikieditors LX also presented their project in this edition of Wikimania with this Other Poster.
> The campaign experience
As you know, in 2024 from Wikisphere we launched the thematic and asynchronous campaigns, a format that was very enthusiastically welcomed by many of you and that has meant a breakthrough in reducing the gender gap in Wikipedia.
With this lightning talk titled Collaboration Over Competition: 1,000 Articles in One Year Through Asynchronous Gender-Focused Campaigns we had the opportunity to share with the entire Wikimedian community the importance of organizing these types of activities that encourage the sustained and autonomous participation away from any competitiveness. Something that is especially relevant for communities composed mainly of women.

Wikimania 2025 had many more interesting sessions and the recordings of most of them are available in this link from which you can navigate throughout the program. Most of the videos are in English, but in some cases you can put subtitles in Spanish.
The next edition of Wikimania will be held from 21 to 25 July 2026 in Paris. We trust that on that occasion many of you can attend in person to live an experience as enriching as any we had the opportunity to Wikimania 2024 in Katowice.
