Since its foundation in 2015, Wikiesfera was born from the hand of Patricia Horrillo with a very simple objective: help more people join editing on Wikipedia. What started as an informal group meeting at Medialab Prado has become a feminist community committed to building free, diverse and inclusive knowledge.
Along this path, we have worked to get more women to edit Wikipedia and thus reduce the gender gap in the free encyclopedia. To this end, we needed to expand the team and add more professionals to the project. We have succeeded, albeit with limited effort and resources, thanks to the support of the Wikimedia Foundation. But that funding is not enough.
To continue growing without precarizing our work and multiplying our impact, we need your support. That's why we've opened a donation space, so that those who believe in this project can contribute to sustaining it. Each contribution helps us continue to build a fairer and more equitable Wikipedia.
> With your contribution, we can:
- Organize seminars, workshops and editatonas (editing marathons) that allow hundreds of women to learn how to edit and contribute new content to Wikipedia.
- Offer training and accompaniment to new editors, providing them with the necessary tools and support so that they feel safe and able to participate in the construction of free knowledge.
- Spread our work and connect with more people committed to equality and free knowledge, thus expanding our collaborative network.

Every donation counts. Together, we can build a fairer, more diverse and more inclusive Wikipedia, where all voices have the place they deserve. #TogetherWe'reMoreVisible
In a world where information is power, your support helps us ensure that power is in everyone's hands. Oh, my God!Thank you for believing in a future where knowledge is truly free!.
