In November 2022, Wikiesfera participated in the meeting Sales Jail: toast to memory that organized the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (@Rosalux_EN_PT) with the historian Fernando Hernández Holgado the Ateneo La Maliciosa in Madrid (@AteneoMaliciosa). This activity aimed to present the website www.carceldeventas.org as a virtual "place of memory" to spread the memory of the Republican prisoners who were detained in the Madrid Sales Prison, the most populous female prison in Spain during the 40s of the 20th century.

From that first meeting and seeing the interest aroused, the First Days of Public History on the Women's Prisons of Francoism, with a focus on the flagship Madrid Sales Prison (1931-1969), the most populous women's prison during the Franco dictatorship. These days have a triple purpose, which reflects our Wikiesfera's commitment to education, historical memory and the dissemination of knowledge: Lectures and plenary tables will be offered, students and the general public will be trained in research techniques with documentary sources, and activists in history and public memory will be trained through practical workshops and historical-memorial tours.

The meeting, which will take place between the days 20-23 September 2023 in the La Corrala Cultural Center of Madrid, is organised by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (@Rosalux_EN_PT), in collaboration with EUROM (@euromemories) and the Spanish Association of Public History (@historiapublik), and the participation of Category: Herstorics (@herstoricas), the Fundació Solidaritat UB (@solidaritatub), the the Ángel Llorca Foundation (@Angel_Llorca), on HISMEDI History and Historical Memory Project the UC3M (@Hismedi) and Wikisphere.

Within the framework of the days, Wikisphere will coordinate a editathon, a editing marathon, that is, an activity in which several people come together to create new content on Wikipedia, fighting the content gaps of the free encyclopedia and making visible the absence of articles related to different topics. On this occasion, we want to make visible in Wikipedia articles related to the Sales and Historical Memory Prison: biographies, organizations, literary works...
