The last September 9th began in Berlin the Wikimedia Summit 2022<\/strong><\/a> It is organized annually by Wikimedia Germany in collaboration with the Wikimedia Foundation. This edition, the first after the pandemic, was held in hybrid format with face-to-face and virtual assistance from members around the world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For three days, three representatives of Wikiesfera were part of this event: Patricia Horrillo<\/strong> (PatriHorrillo<\/a>) and Isabel Zapico<\/strong> (Zapipedia<\/a>) online from Madrid, and in the countryside, our partner Liliana Alvi\u00e1rez<\/strong> (Lalviarez<\/a>), who traveled to Berlin as an ambassador for our user group<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this meeting analyzes and discusses the future of the Wikimedia Movement<\/strong>. This year's agenda focused on the implementation of the Movement Strategy 2030<\/a>, whose purpose is to unite the movement to achieve a collective impact. It was an opportunity in which the participants shared their projects<\/strong> and how they are doing them, a Draft on the Charter of the Movement<\/strong>, it was reviewed how they are distributing resources<\/strong> and the use of tools<\/strong>; The next steps were agreed upon at the end of the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a very inspiring experience. I met people from many different countries who develop wonderful projects adapted to their local reality, some on how to minimize the gender gap and others on how to recover minority languages and cultures or on how to turn Wikimedia projects into a support for education. <\/em><\/p>

Undoubtedly, Wikimedians are united by the same goal, that knowledge is free and accessible to all, and thus contribute to creating a better world.<\/strong>. I come back with a head full of ideas to share with my fellow Wikisphere members and a heart full of new friends. This space allowed Wikisphere to create new alliances with other members of the Movement<\/strong> They will join our activities in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
