Since July 2021, Madrid is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List<\/strong>, which lists sites of exceptional universal value. In this way, the Paseo del Prado and the Buen Retiro<\/strong> are in the category of Cultural Landscape and with the particularity of being in an extraordinary urban environment where culture, science and nature coexist since the mid-16th century. This Landscape of Light<\/a> is the first good to hold such a distinction in the city of Madrid, and the fifth in the Community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wikisphere, along with Medialab Slaughterhouse<\/strong> and in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage of Madrid City Council<\/strong>, organised an editathon on Saturday 22 January<\/a>, to promote the care and improvement of heritage in its digital dimension in Wikipedia. This is the fourth and last of a series of editathons and training activities that have been aimed at form a permanent working group on this matter and help to make visible fundamental elements of the Landscape of Light in Wikipedia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, from 10:00 am, participants from different institutions belonging to the Civic and Social Council of the Prado-Retiro candidacy and citizens interested in the heritage of Madrid gathered in The Terrarium<\/em> Intermediae 's Madrid Slaughterhouse<\/strong> to create items from unique locations, buildings, institutions and trees; and also translate articles by painters related to the Landscape of Light. Several articles that had been produced in recent weeks were also published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
