In early 2017, a project was presented in collaboration with Medialab Prado<\/a> to those responsible for the Municipal Public Libraries of Madrid<\/strong> (@bpmmadrid<\/a>) with a formative and informative objective of the Wikimedia universe. On the one hand, an intensive workshop aimed at library staff was held in September to learn how to document on Wikipedia. Then, between October and December they organized three editatonas about the women who appear in the street of Madrid<\/strong>, to be carried out in public libraries in three districts of Madrid: Carabanchel<\/strong> (BPM Ana Mar\u00eda Matute: 24 October), Moratalaz<\/strong> (BPM Miguel Delibes: 22 November) and Canillejas\/San Blas<\/strong> (BPM Jos\u00e9 Hierro: 20 December).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These editatones were framed within a research project on<\/strong> streets of Madrid<\/strong><\/a>, in which 8,014 streets were analyzed, of which 3,025 are dedicated to people. Figures in terms of gender revealed that only the 11th% of the streets (529) are dedicated to women<\/strong>. From that group, they were checking which had an article and which did not in Wikipedia and a list was created with which they worked on the editatonas to facilitate the visibility of their biographies in the most consulted free and online encyclopedia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
